About Us

Making cooking a breeze.

Our Mission is to help people seamlessly find, shop and organise their recipes.

Playt is a food-technology company based in Australia. We use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technology to provide inspiration for dinners and to make it easy for people to get the food in the door. Our platform seamlessly connects recipe publishers to local grocers who provide home delivery or store pickup solutions. We hope to connect the food industry from farm-to-plate in a way that creates a mutually beneficial, collaborative ecosystem that transforms the consumer experience.

Your Home Cooking Companion

All too often recipes are lost on the internet or gathering dust on the bookshelf at home. We know that many people like cooking to recipes, but the process of going from seeing the recipe to cooking it can be too hard, so they stick to the same boring meals or pre-packaged foods that are not good for them.

Our vision is to become a one-stop-shop for organising the household meals – a cooking companion of sorts. People will be able to find their inspiration for dinners, follow healthy meal plans, order their groceries, and ultimately be able to cook what they want and when they want it.

Our Philosophy

People need flexibility, choice and convenience when it comes to meal planning. We recognise that even with meal-boxes, people still needed to go to the supermarket and think about lunches, drinks and snacks in between. We want Playt to help with all your cooking needs.

Choice

At Playt we don’t hire any chefs to create recipes as we believe there are already millions of recipes designed by amazing chefs out there – we are not here to create more recipes – we are here to make those existing recipes functional so that recipe publishers can engage their own audience utilising our delivery service.

This makes Playt a beneficial tool to help recipe publishers increase traffic and engagement through their websites. Publishers can learn more about how Playt can help here.

Flexibility

We understand that people’s schedules can change daily, and half the time people don’t know what they are making for dinner that night. We have made Playt so flexible that anyone can order what they want, when they want it, and as frequently as they like.

We also know that people have specific food values. Some may not care, but others might prefer organic produce, or just the cheaper or more popular items. Playt recommends items based on relevance or sponsorship, however it’s simple to change to a preferred selection at anytime.

Playt can also be a great way for grocery brands to increase their visibility online. Brands can learn more about that here.

Convenience

With both women and men in the workforce, most people’s status is ‘time-poor’. Convenient and sustainable solutions are what we are all searching for today. Playt can be used on both mobile or desktop, so anyone can plan their dinners and grocery shopping seamlessly from anywhere. Whether it be on the bus on the way to work, or on your computer at lunchtime.

Sometimes we may also find we don’t have the cooking utilities we need. Over time, we will seek to be able to help you find the correct kitchen tools without having to shop around. Kitchenware brands can learn more about that here.

The Team

Our team is driven by a diverse and worldly bunch of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative thinkers. Collectively, we believe that technology should enhance our lives, and create value through efficient and mutually beneficial connections, collaborations and specialisations.

We understand that food is individual to everyone – we all have different tastes and needs. This is why we didn’t want to become another meal-box or subscription service.
